Malcolm X: A great person to remember

I know it may looks weird to review a movie that is before 19 years, but I just felt that it is amazing and everybody should watch it or read the book and know more about this person. The story talks about one main thing, racism!

According to Oxford Dictionary, Racism is "the belief that all members of each race possess characteristics, abilities, or qualities specific to that race , especially so as to distinguish it as inferior or superior to another race or races." and for me it is just a type of unfair act towards a group of people with certain character that they have nothing to do with it ! you can't judge people and put them in a corner because they are black or yellow or whatever! that's what the movie and the book talked about. It is about a man who was suffering from racism like any other Afro-American person in the states at that time. White people used to kill them, hate them, and take everything from them. They suffered a lot as a black community when every white man was asking them to go back to Africa. it is all about how a kid wanted to be a lawyer but he couldn't cos he was black !

I like it when Malcolm said in one of his speeches that they are black and Africans even before all those racism acts or the country is exist! and this is so true, we are humans before everything else. The other thing that I like is how he said that black people should love and believe in themselves to make people love them instead of trying to be like others. I think we all should do that not just black people! his story gives a lot of lessons -apart from Islam-.

Well, many people specially Muslims see him as an icon for Islam in America, but for me, I think he is more than that, Islam was a part of what he did, but he gave a great lessons in humanity and self appreciation with his 39 years. More than that, I like it how he changed his opinions and believes when he realized the truth. it gives another lesson in how you have to say it if u did something wrong, it ain't a shame!

I didn't like how he was in the beginning, he thought - or they taught him - that black people should hate white men even though his mother was white -she hated her white blood and she chose to marry a black man- he refused to work with white people who believed in him, but after his visit to Mecca, he realized that it is not about the color, he went to "Hajj" with white people who have a light hair and blue eyes and he was eating with them.

Unfortunately he was murdered in the end in a very bad way , I didn't like it cos I think that he should stay longer - but this is his destiny - and it is how some people hate and can't accept others, he had more things to give to the world and to the humanity not just for Muslims or Afro-Americans.

Kuwait celebrations

Kuwait is celebrating its National and liberation day, all the streets, houses and buildings are decorated with Kuwait flags and Amir pictures, all people are out in the street celebrating the 50th National day, The 20th liberation day and 5th anniversary of H.H the Amir for the assumption of the leadership of the state of Kuwait .

There was a nice event in Feb,25th next to Kuwait towers, as I know that people who read my blog are not just from Kuwait so I decided to share this show with the world to show them this lovely country

How a gesture can put u in jail?

As we know, there are many differences in cultures around the world, the things that are allowed to do in your country, can be prohibited in other countries and vice versa, the allowance and the prohibition may mainly depends on religious views or even historical events.

One of the most confusing topics that shows how the differences in cultures may be a problem is "Hand gestures", it is a problem to the limits that could throw u in Jail ! So let's See !!


In the states this sign means I LOVE YOU

The other sign that it is slightly similar to this is this one below If you show this sign to someone in USA, he will directly think about "Texas University" since it is the logo of the university and the Texas Longhorn football team and it represent the two horns of the bull. But can you imagine that the same sign is an insult for Mediterranean ! In 1985 five Americans were arrested in Rome because they were dancing and using this gesture, then the news later showed that Longhorn football team won in USA and those Guys were Happy

In South America it means protection against bad luck when rotated but in Malta and parts of italy it means protection against Evil Eyes when they point it.

The other interesting gesture is this one .. In Europe and North America it means OK or excellent While in Arab countries it is a threat signal.

For Mediterranean people, Russians and Brazilians it has bad meaning and considered as an insult.

In Japan this gesture means MONEY! if u r doing business in Japan and u show them this sign they will think that u asking them for a bribe

In France and Belgium it means Zero or worthless, so don't ever do this in restaurants when u go there, they may throw u out because it is really impolite to say that the food is worthless even if u mean it is Good

The days of the week

I used to ask myself why we call Thursday with this name? or Why does Monday has this name? or even the rest of the days!? what are the secret behind those names ? Does they have a meaning ! Luckily I found the answer while I was reading a philosophy book! The Answer for all those question is as follows

The days of the week were named after the Norse gods and some giant objects, they derived originally from Greeks and Romans who named their days after their Gods..

So now who are they ?!


Sunday is the sun's day and because sun gives people the light and the warmth everyday they decided to name this day after it .

Monday is the moon's day, they thought that the moon was important to their life and to the crops so they called the day after it.

Tuesday is Tiw day or Tyr's day, Tyr is a norse God and he is the God of battle known for his sense of justice.

Wednesday is Woden's day, or Odin's day, another Norse God, he is the God of victory and the dead was one of the most powerful of them all, ppl who believed in the Norse Gods used to offer for him a scarified Human !

Thursday is named after Thor, a Norse God that had a giant hammer.

Friday is Frigg's Day. Frigg was a Norse god equal in power to Odin

Saturday named after Seater or Saturn, a Roman God for agriculture.
